Revive Vending have supplied vending machines to Southampton Solent University since 2003 and during all that time have supported a small hands on charity called EdUKaid.
EdUKaid are a people focused charity committed to improving education and changing lives in rural Tanzania.
Over the last few years EdUKaid have gone from strength to strength. They put this down to the continual fantastic supporter base they have. One of whom provides EdUKaid’s UK office space; it shares the stresses of frantic packing before a trip to Tanzania; it supports EdUKaid’s administration costs, keeping their overheads low; and it shares its delicious coffee with EdUKaid’s staff and volunteers!
It was many years ago, Revive Vending and EdUKaid began their journey together. A journey that for Revive Vending’s Managing Director and EdUKaid’s Chair of Trustees, Tim Varney, has meant travelling to Tanzania back and forth 15 times in the last ten years! That’s quite a journey! One belief they have shared and will continue to is…
'If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together'
(African Proverb)
We know that at Southampton Solent University, you pride yourself in community links and never losing touch with what’s going on in the ‘real world.’
Now remember, when you’re on that isolated island and if you’ve just purchased a snack or drink from a Revive machine you have played a small part in a much bigger journey. YOU are a face of Southampton Solent’s global community, supporting educational initiatives in rural Tanzania.
