Health & Vitality
A students brain is composed of 100 billion brain cells - aka neurons - that drive thinking and learning. Neurons need fuel: good fats, protein, complex carbohydrates, micronutrients, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and, of course, water. These nutrients are used to drive the learning functions of neurons and a diet short of these makes a poor student.

Food Champion // An Introduction to Mark Davidson
The awards, which took place at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London, celebrate the determination and passion of individuals who have worked with the Soil Association to promote the Catering Mark in their organisations. The Catering Mark is open to all food providers and, awarded at three levels (Bronze, Silver and gold), it recognises caterers who are taking steps to improve their food, by meeting standards on freshness, sustainability and animal welfare.

We have held the Bronze Food for Life Award for our Bowl & Natural offers for the past year, this year we have reached the Silver Award for our Bowl offer in the Dock restaurant at both Eastpark Terrace and Warsash Maritime Academy.

Our Commitment to You - MSC
Grilled Hake with Braised Peas & Bacon and Baked Hake with Chilli Marinade are just two of the dishes you will find on our Bowl bar that carry the MSC label.
When you see the MSC blue logo on our menus you'll know that the fish we serve in our restaurant is from a sustainable fishery.
Top Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc OBE has turned detective for a new series of short animations about sustainable fish. The Chef Patron of Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons has followed Inspector Clouseau, turning into a cartoon super-sleuth to investigate three cases that would test even the greatest of detectives.

The Sodexo Star Awards
Sodexo staff from Southampton Solent University shone at the Sodexo Star Awards 2013 in London. It was an evening of wins for our Sodexo staff as we claimed three awards throughout the night. The Star Awards ceremony is held once a year to recognise the talent, dedication and loyalty of certain members of staff and teams across Sodexo.

Look out For The MSC Logo
Look out for the MSC logo on our menus as when you see this logo on our menus you'll know that our fish is MSC certified. All MSC labelled seafood comes from and can be traced back to, a sustainable fishery.
One of our most popular dishes is the Breaded Hake & Chips. The hake in this dish is MSC certified and as is a lot of our other fish dishes available from the Dock restaurant.
Look out for the MSC logo on our menus for the new term.

The Food for Life Catering Award
The accreditation recognises restaurants and caterers that serve fresh food which is free from controversial additives and better for animal welfare.
Sodexo already holds the Food for Life Bronze Catering Mark for serving fresh and healthy meals in all of the UK primary schools where it operates.
Caterers with the Bronze Catering Mark serve seasonal meals which are freshly prepared and free from additives including MSG, tartazine and aspartame. No GM ingredients are used and all eggs are cage-free hens.
