Wednesday 13th November, Sodexo collected two silver awards at the Green Impact Awards. Awards were present to Dawn & Natalie and we're going to tell you exactly what they're all about.

It is a departmental environmental awards scheme that has:
- 55 tertiary education institutions.
- 1,043 teams reaching 60,076 staff.
- 41,046 greening actions.
- 1,050 student auditors and assistants.
- 4 local Authorities and 2 NHS Trusts.
- Community pilots.
- International pilots.
The event was held at Southampton Solent University and Sodexo were awarded Silver for both East Park Terrace campus and Warsash Maritime Academy.
To achieve this award we had to follow the NUS workbook & criteria and we achieved this to a silver award standard. Our initiatives included:
- Heating and lighting audits
- Recycling schemes
- Attending green impact meetings with other departments at Warsash & EPT.
- Promoting Sodexo's own environmental steps
- Helping to organise "Green Day" to raise awareness among the students
- Sourcing and serving fairtrade products
- Getting rid of any bottle fed water coolers
- Double sided printing,
- Recycling stamps, ink cartridges, mobile phones
- Promoting Sodexo's cycle to work scheme
