Here's a look back at what we've been doing

Since September we've had a lot going on so we're looking back at our favourite moments so far...

Over summer we were awarded the Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark by the Soil Association and the Silver Good Egg Award from Compassion in World Farming. Both of these accreditations show the hard work we put in to use only fresh food which is better for animal welfare and free from any controversial additives.

Fizz Whizz Wheel of Fortune
When the students returned in September we kicked off the term with our Freshers Event with the bright and colourful Fizz Whizz Wheel of Fortune. This spinning game gave out instant prizes to the new (and not so new) students that came along to give it a whirl. Prizes included free pizza, cinema tickets, free food for a year and annual cinema passes.

We were also joined by Mars, Walkers Deep Ridge Crisps and Solent University's Radio Sonar who broadcasted live music in The Dock and got students on air spinning the wheel. Mars gave out free chocolate to keep the hungry freshers going as they battled with the Walkers Helicopter challenge. We also joined Voice FM and Glaceu out in the Quad on the day of the Student Life Fair to give students even more chances to win.

Halloween Rock at The Dock
Halloween arrived in October and saw our pop up street food stand serving gourmet hotdogs for the first time. Our other outlets from The Dock also got into the spooky menu spirit with Beef Ghoulash and Devilled Chicken coming from bowls and Mummified hot-dogs and pizzas haunting Streat. Our staff dressed up for the event with zombies, witches and devils serving the customers.

Chances for prizes came thick and fast throughout the day with meal vouchers, card top ups and hot drinks for a year were given away. Student DJs joined us to play spooky classics as well as all the latest chart topping music to keep the atmosphere alive in the Dock.

Natural had a spruce up
As the cold weather set in Natural was given a colourful makeover with Hot Mediterranean coloured plates replacing the black trays. Our popular and varied range of options hasn't changed we've just displayed them a little bit brighter!

Congratulations Graduates
Robes and mortar boards flooded The Dock in November for Graduation as students nervously waited to walk across the stage and collect certificates officially declaring them graduates. We had a variety of offers for students past and present including family meal deals and a cocktail for graduates and guests to toast their success.

The Sodexo Star Awards
The Sodexo Star Awards is the Sodexo event of the year, rewarding the staff and teams that have stood out across the company. The staff from Solent were the recipients of 3 awards this year. Two went to our General Manager Dawn Gillespie for the Better Tomorrow Plan and the Star Business Manager award and our entire team here at Solent earned the Service Catering Excellence award.

All 3 of these awards were won in the education sector and it is the second time we have been awarded the Service Catering Excellence award nationally.

We're Social Stars
Over the last year we have had a lot of fun, giveaways, events and made a lot of Twitter and Facebook friends.

Now we are looking ahead and planning our JANUARY SALE event. Every day we will have an exclusive offer in one of our bars or coffee shops. You can get some of your favourite meals, drinks and cakes for reduced prices. The best way to stay ahead of the game and up to date is to follow us on Twitter or Facebook. We're hoping that Radio Sonar will be back with us welcoming in the New Year with all the latest music and getting you involved with games and giveaways.
